Aiyar calls Modi ‘neech aadmi’, Cong distances itself from remark

New Delhi, December 7
Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Thursday came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the latter’s apparent remarks on the Nehru-Gandhi family.
Reacting to the PM’s speech at a function to inaugurate the BR Ambedkar International Centre here, Aiyar said if anyone had contributed to taking Ambedkar’s dream forward, it was Jawaharlal Nehru.Lambasting the PM, Aiyar told ANI, “Ye aadmi bahut neech kisam ka aadmi hai, is mein koi sabhyata nahi hai. Aur aise mauke par is kisam ki gandi rajniti karne ki kya avashyakta hai? (This man has a low level, and is not civilised. What was the need to indulge in dirty politics at this time?)”

Later, the Congress reportedly distanced itself from the remark, saying the party was against using such language.
